Looking to build a trip customized of your own? We would love to help plan your adventure! Whether it is a trek to see the cave paintings in the Sierra San Franciscos, Birds of the Baja Peninsula, or snorkeling with whale sharks in the Sea of Cortez, we can create the perfect vacation for your group of 6 or more.

Birds of Baja

The Birds of Baja has been a popular interest trip. Itineraries range from 8-10 days. Groups travel more than 1,000 miles from San Diego to Cabo San lucas exploring Baja’s deserts, mountains & coastal areas in the search of the Gray Thrasher, Mangrove Warbler, Xanthus Hummingbird, Vermilion Flycatcher, Frigatebird & others.

Tranpeninsular trek

The Transpeninsular Trek is a great introduction to the Baja Peninsula, with an up-close look at its agriculture, animals and geography. We’ll explore off the beaten path from the unique cactus forests to the shores of both coasts – the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. Meet the people in the small towns and villages along the way and learn of Baja’s rich cultural history.

On this excursion we visit:

  • An old Onyx mine
  • Four of the old Jesuit missions still in use
  • Two cave painting sites
  • The old French copper mining town of Santa Rosalia

Boojums and Boulders

Our Boojums and Boulders 4 day trip visits the wide sandy beaches of the Pacific in northern Baja and the central desert wonderland of Cataviña. This area is rich in bird life and spectacular plant life. This is home to the endemic Cirio (Boojum), which can grow to 50 feet, and the majestic Cardon. Visits are also possible to old onyx & turquoise mines and cave painting sites.

Sierra de San Francisco Cave Paintings

Experience breathtaking scenery as you descend on mule to explore this mysterious and beautiful canyon, for four days. Some of the caves we’ll visit are Cueva Pintada, the most well-known cave with 500 feet of well-preserved painted walls; Cueva de las Fletchas, named for painted human figures impaled with arrows; Cueva de la Soledad, that includes a checkerboard form and paintings of deer, rabbit, and birds; Boca de San Julio, a beautiful cave filled with paintings of deer, birds, and hybrid creatures of human and animal forms; and Cueva de Los Musicos. At night, watch a canopy of stars stretch above you, and enjoy food and conversation before climbing into your tent for the evening.
